i'm leaving on a jet plane

Ahhhh. . . John Denver's classic song. So appropriate for today. My ipod is loaded. I've got reading material. Phil got me some Sour Patch Kids - for the ultimate in airline nibbling. Just a few more things to toss in my suitcase, and I'm ready to go.

Leaving behind my husband of 5 years + 7 days. I tried to make it a little easier for him. The house is clean. The laundry's done. The love notes are scattered all around the house. Some hidden, some in plain sight. (He already found one this morning. Before he was supposed to.) He's got lasagna in the freezer, fresh fruit all cut up and ready to eat, and leftover blueberry kuchen (yum) to snack on. He even has a little scrapbook I made him so he doesn't forget what I look like.

Hoping that my plane stays in one piece. That the pilot doesn't die. That I sit by non-irritating people. That the weather in the midwest doesn't cause too much turbulence. That my luggage arrives with me this time. That my husband's heart grows fonder during my absence because I know mine will.

And in case you're wondering, I'll probably throw out an occasional blog during my travels.
