they say that going back is hard to do. . .

You were supposed to sing that to the tune of "They say that breaking up is hard to do." Hopefully you read my mind right there on the title without me having to tell you that. I often put crazy things to music. I do it at school all the time. I've made line up songs to the tune of old hymns. Normally I sing ok, like at church and stuff. But when I'm in the classroom, I really kick it up a notch. The kids are always like, "STOP SINGING!!! PLEASE STOP SINGING!!!" But I don't. I even sing through the curtain to last year's class. Just because they miss me.

Oh, it's been a long week already and it's only Tuesday. I get spoiled being home. . .doing nothing like. . .wasting time reading blogs, checking out friends on facebook, and baking cookies. It's like a crash course in reality when the vacation party ends. But I'm managing. A bit tired, but that's to be expected.

Tomorrow we have our rescheduled Christmas concert during chapel. It seems so weird to be making Christmas props in January, but that's what we've done this week. Having it during the school day takes off some of the pressure too. Simply put, not as many people can come, so I have less of them to worry about. And why should I even worry? 2nd graders are just plain cute.
Our party is rescheduled for Friday. We're doing the whole kit & kaboodle. . . decorating cut-out cookies, pjs, read-in with a pillow & blanket, games, Christmas movie, gifts from the teacher. Should be a good time.

My favorite show started back up tonight! How 'bout that Jerry (who fainted after 3 minutes of exercise) & Estelle (his lovely wife)??? They're the oldest couple ever on the show. They've got my vote.

And the final news briefing for tonight. . .I'm Aunt Dee again to my newest niece Lavender. Blogging friends, meet my brother's offspring! She was born January 5th and all I can remember is she weighed 6 lbs. 11 oz. And I'm not even sure I'm getting that right.
It looks like she's waving to you all :)

Feeling your pain on going back to school... hard to do. :)

Enjoy your extended Christmas! Hope the play goes well!

Your niece is so sweet! Love her name! She was the same size as Mikayla at birth! Glad all is well with her. :)
