the garden of twenty fourteen

We spent Memorial Day getting the garden planted. This year we took things up a notch. We rented a tiller from Home Depot and worked in a garbage can of our homemade compost and some other good dirt stuff before we started planting. Last year we didn't get any peppers and only two or three cucumbers, so we needed to do something. Here's hoping that the new and improved garden soil does the trick.

This year we've got tomatoes, strawberries, basil, cilantro, two kinds of peppers, various sizes and colors of pumpkins, sugar snap peas, cucumbers, zucchini, green beans, red leaf lettuce, sunflowers, and a moonflower plant.
