it's friday. hallelujah and amen.

For the first time ever in filing as a married couple on our income taxes, Phil505 and I finally get a refund on both the federal and state. I'll spare you most of the details, but Oregon owes us a whopping $26!!! Isn't that hysterical? 26 bucks. (Ya, I know. We live in Washington, but we work in Oregon. Therefore, pay up, Beaver State.)

I get Monday off for spring break. I'm used to a week, but trust me, at this point, I'll take a day and be quite happy with that.

Phil and I went to a greenhouse in Camas on Sunday. (This was after we ate lunch at Brothers, a burger joint we tried for the first time right by Costco for all you East Vancouver friends. Can I say yum??? It's been a loooonnnnnngggg time since I've had a grilled bun to go with my juicy burger with extra pickles.) He had seen a Craig's List ad that said they were having a clearance sale. Seemed kind of strange to me that a nursery was having a clearance sale at the beginning of the planting season, but we went with it anyway. Left there with three landscapish-y looking trees and a flowering bush. Please don't ask me to remember their names, but do ask what we spent. Go ahead.

OK. Thank you for asking. $43.07 on about $150 worth of yard beautification. Score!!! Now to figure out where it's going to go. . . I have time. It's still a little too early to plant anyway.

I hosted a little potluck St. Patrick's Day brunch for the ladies at my church last Saturday. (Part of my new-ish role as coordinator of ladies' ministry.) It was fun and most of them wore green, so I gave up on the pinching. I ended up with 15 guests and Wilson only licked one danish. (They were begging me to bring him out, and I finally caved at the very end. So it wasn't like anyone was really wanting that freshly licked danish at that point. But they were fore-warned.)

While the rest of the country was enjoying record breaking temperatures, we woke up to about 2 inches of snow yesterday. It was so pretty all sticking on the trees, but I think there may have been a mix up in all that. Thankfully the sun is shining today and that snow only lasted a couple of hours anyway.

Now I'm looking forward to spending a nice weekend with the hubs. We're taking the dog to the beach for the day. It'll be his first time near a big body of salt water. Should be fun. He hates getting in the car. Double the fun.

PS - Dad, I'll be sure to look for some really great treasure. Let me know if you want me to pick you up something special. You know what I mean ;)

Mika's loved the beach the first time. I think he was almost 3 months old and he ate a lot of sand....trust me...I saw it in his poop for several days. BUT, he loved it. PICTURES....don't forget lots of pictures please.
