candy canes and roses

I decorated most of my table tonight. That included making this centerpiece, an idea I totally stole from pinterest. I think it turned out pretty cool. I took this with my camera phone, so it's not the greatest, but you get the idea anyway. I'll show more pictures later.

In case you were wondering, I used 47 candy canes to go around the cylinder vase. I probably could've squeezed one more, but it was broken. The trick is to use double sided tape around the vase and then a rubberband. Once you add the ribbon, you can't see the rubberband. I bought two yards of ribbon just to be on the safe side, but didn't need it all. Before you start, you'll want to set the whole thing on a plate or charger or something. I picked it up the first time to put water in it and all the candy canes went flying everywhere. Oh, and by the way, no two candy canes are the same size. I'm trying not to let that bother me. ha.
