hoping to be the rose among the thorns

Isn't that title pathetic? But it's true. Tomorrow I have an interview at a Christian school in Camas, Washington, that I didn't even know existed until about a month ago. A dear friend (and former colleague who's also currently unemployed) saw the open positions posted on Craig's List and sent me the link. She's licensed in Oregon, and I'm licensed in Washington. So I applied. And waited. And waited some more. And just about two weeks ago I got called for an interview. I don't know a single soul at this school. So that felt pretty darn good to get a call knowing they must've liked something they read in my stuff. I'll be going for the 2nd/3rd split class, but there is also a K/1st split and a K position available. My knees weaken at the thought of teaching kindergarten, but if that's what I'm offered, I'll take it. My portfolio has been updated, my pants have been hemmed, and I am procrastinating on typing out the lesson I'm taking with me to give you this little update. I would appreciate your prayers. My interview starts at 10:00 PST, that's 1:00 for you sweet people on the east coast.
