monday, monday (bah-bah, bah, bah, bah, bah)

Oh, I just love that oldies song. Don't you? It perfectly fits my mood today. Blah-blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

I'm recovering from a cold. I probably got the cold because it went from 35 degrees to 65 degrees in like. . . a day. I'm not complaining because I certainly love the sunshine. And we've had like five days of sunshine in a row. That's gotta be a record breaker for February for sure. And speaking of colds, I think taking Cold-Eze has sincerely reduced the length of mine.

Phil miraculously took off the sunniest Saturday of the month like 3-6 months ago (it's how they work over there in Port Land). So we had planned on a day trip to the coast - not knowing it was going to be so warm and sunny. Let me just tell you, it was delightful. We started off at Fred Meyer for new sunglasses because, 'tis the season to not be blinded. I didn't notice it at first, but I'm sooooo bringing back the Trendy Wendy with a small touch of bling along the top. It's probably too small to see in this picture and since I don't know how to make the pictures get any bigger, you'll just have to believe me on this one. Please don't be jealous of my coolness. Perhaps we could work something out and I could shop for you, for a nominal fee.

We walked on the beach. We avoided every trinket shop and saw not a single whale. We sat on two benches. We ate lunch overlooking a bay. We met a man from Chattanooga. We did not eat Tillamook Ice Cream but we did eat chips with our fish and club sandwich. We recorded video for the family. We watched the wind carry off the tops of the waves. We mass produced Vitamin D. Then we came home and watched more of the Olympics.

Ahhh. . . the Olympics. How much spandex do you think they go through making all those team uniforms? Now you all know that I'm no fit and trim Olympian by any means, but can you imagine wearing that stuff all. the. stinkin. time? How long do you think it takes them to put it on? It's skin tight. It hides nothing. But it comes in a rainbow array of fruity colors.

Here are my top 10 7 things that make me nervous while watching the Olympics:
  1. Speed. They go so fast.
  2. Height. So far up they go.
  3. Crashing. Landing flat on one's back. Ow.
  4. Mogul hills. Knees that look like they're going to go out of joint at any given moment.
  5. Throws. I'd never make it in pairs figure skating.
  6. Waiting. It takes forever for those scores to go up.
  7. Parents. Hoping their child makes it down without serious injury.

(Sorry, I could only think of 7.)

Lastly, I'm taking a poll. It's really a two-questioned poll based on tonight's dinner lovingly prepared by Phil505. Question #1: Have you ever had sliced cucumber in your stir fry? Question 2: What's in your favorite stir fry dish?

No, I have never had cucumber in stir fry.. hmm... sounds interesting!

We haven't had stir fry in a long while. Wow... we may have to do some of that this week! I guess my favorite would be chicken with zucchini and broccoli and.. well, all kinds of wonderful stuff.

Glad y'all had such a wonderful weekend. I am jealous of your bling.
