he's my funny little valentine

Where did the two of you meet? We met online at christianmatchmaker.com.

What was the first thought that went through your head when you first met him? Well, this would depend on if you're referring to the first time I read his profile on the site (I've really got to meet this guy) or the first time I saw him at the airport (Oh my goodness, I can't believe he's finally here!).

Do you remember what he was wearing? Not for sure, but probably jeans and a button down or polo shirt. And I'm pretty sure he had on some sort of hat. I was so giddy with excitement that we were finally in the same room that I couldn't even remember where I parked my car.

Where did you go for your first date? Well, since he had taken a red-eye, first we went to breakfast at Bob Evans. Eventually we ended up at a park in Columbus that had a butterfly exhibit in the conservatory.

Where was the first time you kissed? At the airport. At the top of the escalator. And someone should totally write a movie about the whole thing because we make The Notebook pale in comparison when it comes to romance levels.

When was the first time you realized you liked him? I liked him just reading his answers to questions on his profile. Then we spent six months getting to know each other by writing letters and emails. Then he finally called me, and after talking on the phone, we knew we had to meet. We just had some logistics issues to work out.

How long did you know him before you became a couple? We corresponded and he visited twice in almost a year and on that 2nd trip, we went ring shopping.

How did he propose to you? After I got my ring back from getting it sized, I mailed it to him so he'd have it. On my first visit to Oregon, after he picked me up at the airport, we went to the Rose Garden and walked around. In one little quiet section, we headed over to a bench and he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. He had the ring wrapped up in a napkin in his pocket because he thought it would be less conspicuous. I wasn't expecting him to propose on the first day, so I was very surprised. He was very nervous and almost got us killed on the drive up there.

Do you have kids together? Nope.

Have you ever broken the law together? Where? Well, he was the one driving, but we were in the car together coming back from Yakima when the State Highway Patrol nailed him.

What's his best quality? He loves to plan time for us to be together. Whether it's just taking off a Saturday or planning a trip to the beach, he does it, he does it often, and he does it well.

Do you see him as your partner in your future? Forever and ever and ever.

What is the best gift he gave you? A Bible on our wedding day.

What is one thing he does that gets on your nerves? He has an occasional snoring problem that can keep me up at night.

Where do you see each other 15 years from now? We'll still be here acting like newlyweds, holding hands and sitting real close in church.

What causes the most arguments? We're not yellers, but we can get uptight over finances.

How long have you been together? The 1st email was sent July 9, 2002. We haven't looked back since.
