happy thanksgiving

My thankful list for 2009. . .
  • Jesus. He's there for me when nobody else is.
  • My husband. He makes me laugh every single day. He is caring and genuine and handles my emotions better than I do sometimes. I love him with all my heart.
  • A job that allows me to steal good ideas off the internet that gets little first graders all excited (see toilet paper roll Pilgrims above). Thought I wasn't going to have one for about two weeks when I got laid off in August, but God had other plans.
  • My family who felt terribly far, far away today. They feel far, far away everyday, but it's 10 times worse on the holidays.
  • Our church. We've been stretched in our Bible studies and Sunday School classes, we've gotten to know some fabulous people through small groups, and we've got an amazing pastor.
  • Our home. Though it's not really ours, we love living here. We feel safe and it's cozy and it was amazing how God opened the door for us to move in.
  • Good health. Other than trying to find good veins when they were trying to get my potassium levels straightened out, we haven't had any medical drama this year. Having been through it before with Phil's near death pancreatitis, that's something to be very thankful for.
  • For being connected with my friends. Blogging and facebook have certainly played an important part in that.

Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I'll leave you with a little poem. . .

May your stuffing be tasty
May your turkey plump,
May your potatoes and gravy
Have nary a lump.
May your yams be delicious
And your pies take the prize,
And may your Thanksgiving dinner
Stay off your thighs!
