23 on the 23rd

1. I've had two complete Thanksgiving meals and it isn't even Thanksgiving yet. One with turkey. One with ham. Both equally as good.

2. Don't be jealous. It's just that church people like to celebrate.

3. Phil is the referee at my school's home games for 4th & 5th grade boys and girls basketball. One of my students asked today, "Is Mr. Bergland going to be out there blowing his whistle again?"

4. I have officially taken my first nap in the new LaZ Boy. Ahhh. . .

5. Found out recently that Dutch Bros. has 2 Buck Tuesday. I'm totally stopping there tomorrow for a mocha. Of the white chocolate variety.

6. I feel badly for those of you without Dutch Bros. Good coffee stuff. My dad even became a fan.

7. So I heard Jon & Kate + 8 or Kate + 8 or whatever the heck that show is called now is officially done. About time. Let the poor kids get on with their lives.

8. I scrapbooked a lot this weekend. It felt good. The fact that my dining room table looks like this does not feel good.

9. My mop rusted and totally broke in two pieces. It has been replaced with a new one because I'm not about to mop all these floors on my hands and knees.

10. I'm behind in my Esther study. So far behind that I skipped Sunday School out of sheer embarrassment. Well, that and I had to make mashed potatoes for our small group dinner.

11. I sent out three separate pieces of happy mail this afternoon.

12. My mother would not answer her phone today. I'm so not happy with her.

13. My parents have their phone set to play Fur Elise whenever I call. So if she was just avoiding me for some odd reason, she sure heard that song plenty of times to stick in her head all night. Maybe she'll even remember to call me back. Because even if she wasn't listening to the song, she's going to see my number in her caller ID about a hundred times.

14. I lead singing in chapel and today we had a breakthrough. The first chapel of the year it was just plain pitiful. It made me sad to see them not participating. Today, kids were not only singing, they were making a joyful noise. You could see it on their faces. It was awesome!

15. Tomorrow we're making turkey hats and Pilgrims & Indians out of empty toilet paper rolls. Wish me luck.

16. Have you seen the holiday Ritz crackers? They're snowflaked shaped. Very cute and oh, so festive.

17. We've been noticing that the people down the street who've left their Christmas lights up all year have recently been turning them back on. Can't they at least wait til Thanksgiving? I mean, I haven't even put out my Pilgrims & Indians yet.

18. I got my free Shutterfly digi book back the other day. The whale pictures look amazing!

19. I have one and a half days of school left this week.

20. My baby pumpkins are starting to rot. Why couldn't they hold out just a few more days?

21. Ohio State beat Michigan!

22. Ohio State is going to the Rose Bowl. And so will one of the Oregon teams. Whoever wins the big Civil War game coming up. Phil says to me the other night, "Well, if our OSU goes, then it will be the fight over the the." I promptly said back, "There is no fight over the THE. We are The Ohio State University."

23. Besides, Oregon has a Disney Duck as their mascot.
