So I asked him this morning for 4 favorite memories. One for each year that we've been married. He started to say, "Seeing you walk down the aisle. . .Seeing you walk down the aisle. . . seeing you down. . ." Then I stopped him. I said, "Nope, can't use the same answer 4 times in a row." So he said, "Seeing you walk down the aisle, just having you in my life, you being there with me when my parents passed away, and watching you see your very first whale because I love to see you get all excited." (Sweet, I know.) Then I told him mine. "The roses you had delivered to the church to surprise me the morning of our wedding, a drive down through the Gorge last spring and stopping at almost every single waterfall along the way, bringing him home from the hospital alive last summer, and this one time we were at a scrapbook store and I was looking for these particular rub-on letters and you actually found them before I did." Then he goes, "Babe, I always find things before you do." That is true. So very, very true. I'll be in a store looking for something for like 5 minutes and then I'll turn around and he's standing there, looking all suave and debonaire, holding the exact thing I'm looking for. I don't know how he does it.
My friend Sandra left a comment the other day on one of my previous posts that she couldn't believe 4 years has gone by and that it only seemed like yesterday she was in the room with me and a bunch of our friends. This is for you, Sandra. (That's her, in the green sweater, with Melissa. And I love the expression captured on Melissa's face!)

So many things I love about that day: finally becoming a Mrs., knowing that everyone was thee to celebrate us, all the beautiful hydrangeas, walking down the aisle with my dad on the aisle runner Kerry hand-painted, the music, my dress, the big long juicy kiss that startled the pastor, the tulle and white lights, the cake, the "This wedding brought to you by Christian Matchmaker" on the big screen as we were walking out, driving to the Savannah drive-through to get something to drink after the cake reception, telling the people working there that yes, we really did just get married, & coming back to the church to find out my car had a flat tire, dancing with Phil and then being totally surprised about dancing with my dad and crying my eyes out the entire time. The list could go on and on!

(And now we're heading to the coast to celebrate 4 years together but first we're stopping at the Cheesecake Factory to celebrate my 35 years of life!) Yes, I'm turning 35 on Friday, the 13th. Oh my word. That's half-way to 40.

I loved this!
I did not know about the Savannah Drive-Thru after your wedding. Now THAT is something to remember...means a lot to me, being from there. That cracks me up.
Happy Anniversary!!!!
So - I'm like totally bawling my eyes out right now. What a blessing that God provided such a great guy for my "Wendy Frendy." It is hard for me to remember when you were here - so when I do think about it I usually end up in tears. You were more than a friend - you were an appendage to my life- someone I talked to daily - a sister that lived deeply in my heart and someone that made me laugh more than should be allowed by law. Thanks for including me in your special day - the dress fiasco was craziness! But the reception where you danced with your dad will always linger in my heart. I still see him smiling at you and you crying like a Daddy's girl. Awesome. And of course, Jody and Jenny dancing disco, doing the chicken dance with Coby & your sister Jenny, and the rest of us closing down the reception long after you left and our acquaintane with the fine Cabin wine. It was all wonderful! Love you, xoxo Nat.
Wow! 4 years! I remember that special day well. It was a lovely wedding and I was so happy to be there even tho I'm not a real wedding fan. Really, it was probably the sweetest wedding I've ever been to.
Congrats!
Nancy
