things

(sorry for the double post with bullets, but sometimes it's just easier that way.)

Things I'm looking forward to. . .

• schoolhouse rock live tomorrow.
• being done with school.
• staying up late & sleeping in.
• birthday lunch at the cheesecake factory.
• camping at cape lookout for my birthday/anniversary weekend.
• celebrating 4 years of marriage with the love of my life.
• completing that scrapbook i made with pictures from our getaway.
• sitting on the beach.
• pleasure reading from the big ol' list of books i want to read.
• having time to actually plan dinners - and not making the same old stuff.
• not having papers to grade every single night of my life.
• seeing my parents and showing them around.
• seattle mariners vs. cleveland indians july 20th.
• the view from the top of the space needle.
• attempting to catch up on my scrapbooks. (ya, right.)
• the beach cottage we've rented in newport. {it's got two bedrooms, dad :) }
• fresh, ripe watermelon & canteloupe.
• staying home and not spending a small fortune in gas each week.
• catching up on reruns of oprah.
• our next beth moore bible study, which sadly, doesn't start until the fall.

Things that have surprised me. . .

• the freshly made bed last night. (he even put the clean sheets on, folks)
• being sick over yet another holiday weekend.
• finding out i'm going to be an aunt again.
• ok. . .that last one really didn't surprise me.
• winning a cool prize at saturday's crop.
• being treated like a queen during teacher appreciation week.
• a phone call from jody lang.
• how high our electric bill still is - and we aren't even turning on the stinking heater anymore.
• the lightning storm saturday night.
• the cool clouds and sky before the lightning started.

• how irritating our newest neighbors downstairs can be.
• that i can make decent deviled eggs. (thanks mom, for the over the phone directions)
