Today was a pretty fantastic day. Today was the day our church family got to experience our new pastor and his wife. Our former pastor moved back to Georgia to take a church at the end of July. It was neat to see how God worked out all the details of their transition, but super sad for us. And we've been pastor-less since. Our pulpit's been filled, that hasn't been a problem, but we didn't have a pastor. It's weird to not have a pastor. Actually we knew this summer that Bob and Suzanne were coming, but they were finishing up work with OMS in Japan. So we had to wait. And boy, that wait was hard. We saw pictures of our former pastor and his wife at their new church on facebook and we were happy that they were so happy and close to their family again, but I think perhaps we also felt a little bit jealous. Jealous that this new congregation was getting to experience these two people that we all dearly loved and missed. Well, today, it kind of turned full circle because we were now getting to experience two people that were loved and missed by other people so very far away. When Bob got up to lead us in our time of prayer, I told Phil that it just felt like the whole church breathed a collective sigh of relief. And we are all so glad they're here.
