trunk or treat 2012

At almost the last possible minute and with a teeny-tiny bit of help from pinterest, I decided to go with The Price is Right as our theme for this year's Trunk or Treat. I got the idea for our 'costumes' from pinterest and then decided to make the backdrop {that I should've measured first to make sure it would stand up in our trunk} by sketching a picture I found on Google images on the foam board and then painting it with acrylic paints. I also made the "Come on Down" banner as a finishing touch.
In my dream world I was going to make the big giant wheel and a Plinko board, 'cause Plinko is my all-time favorite game from that show. Ya, that didn't happen. So instead, we went with a generic version of the Shell game. You all remember the Shell game, right?

Instead of shells I used my trusty Ohio State cups. The kids seemed to like it and they were also pretty good at keeping their eye on the cup with the candy and I, being the dork that I am, got to yell "Come on Down!" like 50,000 times. Most of the kids I asked had never even seen the show, but the parents seemed to get a big kick out of it.

All the guests were able to vote for their favorite trunk and believe it or not, we tied for 3rd place! So fun.

We enjoyed a Starbucks date this afternoon with our prize winnings. Go team Bergland!
