The buckeyes are finally made, so now we can show up at Phil's aunt and uncle's house tonight and not have to worry about not being let in. Speaking of buckeyes, Phil's supervisors have sent a special request for me to make a bunch to send in for the Rose Bowl on January 1st. They know they're good because at one of his company picnics a few summers ago, they had a dessert contest. I made them and won 2nd place. I lost to the gal who made the rum cake. I'm sure if I would've spiked the buckeyes they would've taken first place for sure.

santa came early on christmas eve this year
Thanks to the UPS man and the mailman for bringing us presents to open! (And thanks to mom & Jenny for sending them to us in the first place.) Now our tree is happy. I already know that I'm getting the Willow Tree shepherd add-on for my Nativity set (Jenny spilled the beans). I'm most looking forward to the little shiny blue gift that says, "To Aunt Dee, From Darick." It's always a special treat to see what the boy has picked out especially for me at the Secret Santa shop! I'll add it to my lovely ceramic cat that sits on the stove and the ceramic sign that says, "Aunt, you are so sweet" that hangs on the side of the fridge. My nephew makes me feel so loved!
