that's what heaven will be like

Yesterday we learned about Jacob's ladder, the dream he had where the ladder went up to heaven. Angels went up and down it and at the top was God. He told Jacob that He was going to keep the promise He had given to Abraham - that He would bless all people through their family line.

Today we learned about another man in the New Testament named John and how he too had a dream. Well, more like a vision. He got to see heaven. We talked about what he got to see and then we began talking about what would be and what wouldn't be in heaven. The conversation was going great. The kids were getting excited. Someone mentioned "No more diseases." Then another one mentioned "No more swine flu." One of the girls said "No more glasses." I told her I was looking forward to not having to deal with wearing contacts anymore and wouldn't it be fabulous when we got our new bodies! Then one of the boys says, "Ya, Mrs. Bergland. You'll get a new body and you'll be skinny." And all the kids started to agree with him. . ."Ya, you'll be skinny!!!"

Well, alrighty then. Let's get on up there and get those new bodies.
