So yesterday after school I made a stop at Costco to pick up some pictures. It was a quick trip in, quick trip out. But somewhere during the in and out, my car alarm went bolistic. I pushed the key fob to get back in, and when I did, the stupid thing went off. I hit the wrong button and popped open the trunk, all the while feeling the stares of the people nearby. I shut the trunk and tried again. It stopped. Then I got in the car and proceeded to turn the key in the ignition and it went off again. Reset. Car won't start. Blood pressure starts to rise. Reset. Alarm goes off again. Reset. Car won't start. Frustration sets in. I'm not even sure how many times this happened until I decided to give it a rest and look at my pictures. Then I called Phil.
He says, "Haven't you hit the reset button?"
"Uh, ya. About ten times."
"Well, do it again, and hold it in for a little bit."
"OK. I did. Now what?"
"Now use the key fob to lock and unlock the doors."
I did. And don't you know, that dumb thing started right up like nothing had even happened. It was that easy. And believe it or not, this is the second time this has happened to me at Costco. If I only would've been eligible for the Cash for Clunkers program. . .
