fall at tryon creek looks more like summer

So Phil505 had the day off yesterday (just to spend time with me!) and he asked me what I wanted to do. I said, "Take me out to breakfast and then I want to go on a hike at Tryon Creek State Park because I want to see all the fall leaves." Well, I don't know what it was about that place, but it really wasn't very colorful. Sadness. But, I saw lots of cool spider webs, funky little mushrooms, and tons of ferns mooching off the trees.

The sun peeking through a teeny-tiny little bit of color - looking straight up.
As my sister would say, "Rays!" on the bridge.

And Phil took this fallish reflection in the water just before we began the hike of death up the hill.

The funny thing is, after our hike, we bought a pretzel at the mall and finally bought that ellyptical machine that we've been saving up for. Then on our final stop of the day (because we have to enjoy it while we still can) we got our annual pumpkin milkshake at Burgerville. Oh. My. Stinkin'. Word. Whoever invented that combination was a genius. And I thank you.
But now, back to the exercise. I've missed being on the ellyptical. When we had our Y membership, that's what I always would do - the ellyptical and some weights. Then we moved here, cancelled our membership, and I've become rather sedentary. Too much sitting, not enough exercise (so say my clothes and the scale.) So in the words of the contestants on the Biggest Loser. . . 'America, the next time you see me you might see more than just a head shot because I'll have lost enough weight to post a picture of more than just my head.'
