little bits what's going on with me today

I am thankful for: my friend Diana - she treated me to dinner at the Olive Garden tonight. And in keeping with the better food choices plan, I ordered whole wheat pasta.
I am creating: ummm. . .blogs??? my creativity is lacking otherwise and i haven't scrapped (for myself) in a while.
I am going: to eat 4 fruits and 4 veggies a day if it kills me. which it probably won't.
I am hoping: that Natalie keeps her New Year's resolution to come out here and visit me this year.
I am reading: How to Eat Fried Worms to my class - which the boys are totally digging; nothing for my own personal pleasure at the moment, but I reserved some books today including this.

The author has this to say, "When you receive your copy, you’ll find it is full of great writing prompts (100 of them!) for bloggers. These prompts will make readers gasp with delight and return to your blog again and again for its staggering insight and extravagant wit. Readers besides your mom." I like that. . .gasp with delight. Return again and again. Can't you just wait to read my blog now???
Around the house: the carpets were vacuumed today by the hubs and the laundry is mostly done.
One of my favorite things: Bic's felt tipped Flair pens in lots of colors - love to use them for grading.
A few plans for the rest of the week: make attempts to catch up on grading, finish thank you notes for my students' Christmas gifts, write Jody Lang a letter, figuring out what to take a picture of each day.
Right Now: I'm multi-tasking - blogging and watching Biggest Loser.
Out of my window: air stagnation (otherwise known as an inversion) abounds. Til Friday. What is that, you may ask? I know. I had never heard of it til I moved out here. Lack of winds, polluted air gets trapped in the valley. Weather guys inform us of the air stagnation advisories and that cracks me up every time I hear it. I found this nifty little graphic to help explain it to you on one of the local news station's website.

I do care what you have for lunch and will wait with anticipation until you read the book so I can "gasp with delight" as every word is read.
