thrift store shopping spree

After VBS the other day I decided to check out a thrift store called Value Village. I've been by it lots of times, but hadn't ever gone in. I went in to look for more books for my classroom and came out with this.

It had a dark green frame that was kind of scuffed up a little bit. I saw it, thought, "That's really cute." I've seen these types of prints at gift shops priced at almost $80, so that's probably why it caught my eye in the first place. Went around and looked at some more stuff. Came back and thought, "I should get this, repaint the green frame, and send it to my sister, but it would be a pain to mail with the glass and all." (Her kitchen is full of apple stuff.) Walked around some more and came back again. "Boy, that would look good above my stove. But I don't like the green frame." (I've been wanting something for that spot ever since we moved here.) On my fourth and final lap, it finally dawned on me that I could paint the frame blue to match my kitchen and so I picked it up. (Kelli, I must've been thinking about your little kitchen project.)

I got it for the low, low price of $2.99. My mother has trained me well. She is the Goodwill Queen of America.

LOVE IT!! I know you will enjoy it... as well as enjoying the fact you didn't pay a ton of money for it! I went to a local thrift store the other day but didn't really find anything I thought could be turned into a treasure. I'm still learning on that end. lol :) Yay!

Love the picture and from your last posts, saw that you had a great time with your parents. I'm in good ole' Ohio now with my folks and having a great time. Phil flies out to Philly on Thurs. so I'll fly out as well, meet him at the airport, and finally get home. I'm meeting Lis for lunch today. She looks so cute pregnant!
